Mr. Crowley represents
shipowners, operators, charterers, P&I clubs, terminal operators and insurance
companies in a wide variety of maritime and non-maritime disputes. His litigation and
arbitration practice has focused on maritime casualties, cargo damage, charter party and
sales contract disputes, personal injury and death, insurance, environmental and products
liability claims. Mr. Crowley has also developed a significant practice successfully
representing shipowners and terminals in claims brought under the Oil Pollution Act of
1990 and state spill laws.
Drawing on several years of experience as a licensed U.S. Merchant Marine deck officer,
Mr. Crowley represents his clients from the initial stages of investigating and handling
maritime casualties, including representation at federal and state level administrative
hearings, through the final stages of litigation or settlement. He also advises clients
worldwide on U.S. regulatory matters and international standards and codes effecting the
shipping business.
